Game News

spring gobbler hunting has certainly become a tradition in Pennsylvania, even though it’s still a relatively new sport here. The first season was offered in 1968, and the season was only six days long, and closed at 10 a.m. every day. And, if a hunter took a fall turkey, he was not allowed to hunt in the spring season.
Since then, of course, the season and bag limits have been greatly expanded and, in turn, have provided thousands of Keystone State hunters with many fond memories. Feathers, spurs, beards and favorite calls all serve as tangible reminders for many of us of many enjoyable days afield.
If you’ve yet to experience the excitement spring gobbler hunting offers, think about giving the sport a try this year.
